Every year during immersion of Ganapati idol , we deposit tons of Plaster of Paris in our water bodies . The plaster of Paris does not decompose for several years . It kills the marine life and clogs the drainage lines . This project is a battle against water pollution and creating awareness on Eco friendly . The workshop will train the participants in making Idols using Shadu mathi (Natural Clay) which will dissolve in water very easily without polluting the water bodies . The trained participants can further train more people on usage of Natural clay in making idols . This worksop being conducted by Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi Bhavan on July 27th, 2019 at Boat Club at 4 PM. Rotary Club of Koregaon park joined in this initiative by registering many of its members.
